Distortion in space time continuum
20 June 2005
Finally, I lowered the compression on the violin track an - Woah! What happened there? The air is warm! There was some kind of flicker, some kind of shift, and suddenly the air is warm...
Hang on - it's only one o'clock. No, that's not right. I came in here about two hours ago to work on the Excalibur tracks and I started at half past one - it should be three thirty by now.
...weird. Computer and wall clock both say one o'cloc - Shit! I've just clicked the time display on the mac to show the date. It's the 20th of June! What the f - nah, it must be the time server. It's not the 20th of June, it's the 20th of May, stupid. So why is the air so warm? Heating isn't on...
Heh, I know, I'll just get today's newspaper and wave it in the face of this ignorant machine...
...
Oh shite. Shittery shittery shite. Today's newspaper is dated 20th June. I get an email from Bill, I start work on the Excalibur tracks and there's a flicker and a shift and it's the 20th of June. I appear to have lost a month. And Michael Jackson got off, apparently.
At least (quick glance to check) it's still 2005.
A month. Analyse it. OK - I've been busy at work (what's new) and, in my spare time, I've been re-writing, re-arranging and re-mixing the game music tracks I wrote in the nineties for an upgraded re-release of the game - Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge.
But that doesn't explain where a month has gone. Well, unless Morgana is screwing with me.
Oh wait a minute - it's Rose! It's bloody Rose isn't it!
Right. One very sharp email is going off to the BBC right now. Hah! It'll probably arrive on the 20th of May. That'll confuse them. Serve 'em right.
